# All Languages Learner — Support

All Languages Learner shows you short AI-generated passages — dialogs, everyday situations, science, opinion pieces — in the language you're learning, with a translation into a language you already know, and narration that starts fast and gradually slows to a natural pace. It's available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

## FAQ

**How do I get started?**
On first launch, choose a subscription (or start your free week), acknowledge the privacy notice, then pick the languages you know, the languages you're learning, and enter your Claude API key (required) and, optionally, an ElevenLabs key for higher-quality narration.

**Do I need my own API key?**
Yes. A [Claude (Anthropic)](https://console.anthropic.com/settings/keys) API key is required to generate passages — usage is billed directly by Anthropic to your own account, the app itself doesn't charge for generation. An [ElevenLabs](https://elevenlabs.io/app/settings/api-keys) key is optional and only improves narration quality. Your keys are stored only on your device and are sent only to that provider's own API. See the [Privacy Policy](PRIVACY.md) for details.

**How do I read a passage?**
Tap the text once to reveal its translation; tap again to move on to a new passage. Use the arrows to go back to a previous passage or forward to the next one. Type an optional subject at the bottom to steer what the AI writes about.

**How does the narration work?**
When unmuted, the app reads the passage aloud starting very fast, then progressively slower over a few repetitions until it settles into a natural speaking pace — then keeps reading at that pace on a loop until you move on or mute it. Narration only plays for text in the language you're learning, never for the translation.

**Can I save passages for later?**
Yes. Tap the bookmark button to save the current passage together with its translation. Bookmarked passages appear in the Bookmarks tab. Long-press any passage to copy its text.

**Is my history saved?**
Yes. Every passage you've read is kept in History, stored on your device and synced across your devices via your own iCloud account. You can clear it at any time from Settings.
